I have a Vista machine with a C: and G: drive. My webserver apache/php/mysql is on the G: drive and I've added the 127.xxx.xx.x ip to my hosts file so I can locally access my php scripts by going to http://localhost. However, I now want to access my php scripts from another computer in my house. All my computers are connected via a wireless router (some wired, some wireless) and are all on the same workgroup. The ip assigned by the router to my Vista machine is 192.168.1.106, but going to ...

OK, I've got a FreeBSD server set up on an old PII box. I'm serving telnet, FTP, and HTTP mostly to myself and friends. All 3 services work wonderfully fast underneath the router, but outside, most of them time out. I have a Linksys BEFSR41V3 running firmware 1.05.03 with UPnP forwarding set apparently correctly to the FBSD box. Remotely, namely from school, I can access only the telnet, and on the wired portions of the network I can reach the FTP, but the HTTP times out. None of my friends can access any ...

Hi guys I have a big problem and I hope that you guys will help me out of it. I have 2 PCs connected to a 4-port hub, and the hub is connected to the DSL modem to be able to access to the NET. Because it is a 4-port hub, so I have one free port, and I`m trying to connect another Laptop to the internet through that port. The Laptop recognizes the cable, but it appears to be a "limited or no connectivity", and I can not access to the NET using the Laptop. Why? While the other 2 PCs are accessing normally. ...

So, I tried to troubleshoot my router so my GN can connect to it better. I've changed the network modes, and wifi channels, still no luck. I'm getting a faster signal with my 4g lte than my wifi. Again, wifi is Comcast broadband, and the numerous devices I have connected to my router have no trouble downloading, etc. If I take my GN 1/2 ft away from my router, the signal does improve, but obviously nulls the point of wireless. What's the chances its the phone, and not my router? Quote: Originally Posted by ...

Got that working with some trouble (I'm not much of a hardware person). What I'm having trouble with is setting up a local wireless network, so I can use the printer wirelessly and access the other computer wirelessly (If at all possible... with password of course). I can't seem to be able to do that. This is what I have currently tried. I ...

Hardware Router Software WinXP PRO SP2 XAMPP (however, apache2triad also has the same issue) Sygate Personal Firewall ok, so im sure its a configuration issue somewhere. But could someone please point me in the right direction? [/u] Have you opened up port 80 to outside traffic on your firewall? To allow traffic on my machine, I had to open port 80 on my firewall (McAffee) and configure my router to forward any requests on port 80 to my machine. ok i think i've done it, but 1 thing im not sure abt. when i ...

I was on the phone with the army.mil, the site i couldn't access. It was becasue they blocked a rang of ips. When they needed my ip, they said to go to command prompt which i did, then type ipconfig. I got the results but they said that is not valid ip. Is this because i am on a wireless router or something. Or should it work? Correct. IPCONFIG will give you your internally assigned IP address, not the real one. Go to your Router's setup screen. You should be able to find your real one assigned by your ISP ...

Hi - I'm sure this is a very basic question, but can anyone help with it please? A friend has a DSL modem/router providing a wired office network with an internet connection. They want to be able to use their laptop throughout the building. They already own a Linksys access point - if this is connected to a LAN socket on the router, can the laptop (which has a wireless card) connect to the network with no other hardware, or is a wireless router/P2P ICS required? Cheers! Nope, your fine from what I can ...
