This problem doesn't seem to be specific to one app, one phone (before the Galaxy Nexus, I had the HTC Glacier and the the HTC Magic), or one Android version (I've used 1.5, 1.6, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 4.0, and 4.1). The main problem I'm having is that I want more stuff cached in the background. Here are some examples. Example 1 In the Google Reader app, I have checked a box next to Synchronize feeds: Download frequently viewed feeds every hour for offline access. And yet when I go to look at my feeds, it still ...

Hello everyone... I am trying to find few ways to make my site load faster... One of the ways I thought about is to use the same graphics for many pages (corners, backgrounds...). Currently I am using for each folder an 'Images' subfolder. For example: \1\images\ for \1\htmls.html \2\images\ for \2\htmls.html and so on. I know that the files are cached . My question is : Is it enough to load the same pictures over different subfolders? Or I need a global directory - so when the user browse different ...

My turn to ask for help. I have a flash file that opens an XML file. reads the data and plots the animation sequence accordingly. The problem is that the browser is downloading the XML files and flash is accessing them from the cache. I need a way to prevent the users browser from caching the XML files. Please help Never mind I figured it out. If you place a random variable behind the file name it prevents caching. Example (this is actionscript) ran_num = Math.random(); if (xmldocurl.length < 1) { ...

If you're pulling in web data such as images that doesn't change but needs to be viewed multiple times, you'll want to cache it. Caching images dramatically improves the performance of scrolling tables and other views. Note: this only works for JPG and PNG images. If you have suggestions or find bugs, let me know. Utilities.h: #import Foundation/Foundation.h @interface Utilities : NSObject { } // Methods - (void) cacheImage: (NSString *) ImageURLString; - (UIImage *) getCachedImage: (NSString *) ...

For the last couple of days, I have noticed that when I run a cache query in Google to see if a certain web page has been indexed yet, I get a warning from Norton Internet Security that the site is unsafe because of "Drive-by Downloads," which Norton defines as follows: "A drive-by download is computer code that takes advantage of a software bug in a Web browser to make it do something that the attacker wants—such as run malicious code, crash the browser, or read data from the computer. Software bugs ...
