Hello I’m remaking the website for a local federation of a french political party and I’d like some feedback as it is my first complete project (from scratch). It’s only a screenshot because I want to finish the design before starting the html and css. It’s in french so I can explain some of the stuff: on the left are the news, with the latest highlighted news first. As for the sidebar: first are the next local events, then other websites related to the party, then online press that ...

Hello everyone, I would like to say hi for joining the forums. Now to get started, I'm enrolled in a class made for introduction into web design. I've got a homework assignment due on Tuesday which requires me to recreate the Memphis homepage. There's a number of different things I've got to get right, and I'm not very good at CSS. First and foremost, instead of using tables, I must use CSS positioning to get the tables to work. There's a lot more guidance I'm gonna need than just that, but for now I'd ...

I'm trying to create a centered absolute-positioned layout with a header and a main column that will be offset 150% o the left from the center. I put that column within a wrapper with a width of 100% and then I set main column's width to 100% as well, wich I think should stretch it to the width of the containing div. It works fine in the Explorer, but Firefox actually thinks that 100% is the width of the viewing area, which stretches the column way to the right and breaks the whole layout. I can't figure ...

I am trying to realize something fairly simple, and there's one pitfall i seem not to be able to avoid any time. I suspect that the issue is about CSS positioning : What i want to do is to have a rollover image, which when moused-over, turns transparent in places and reveals an underlying text - the underlying text being masked beneath the non-moused over image. So far so good, i managed the rollover code, used a z-index to put the text underneath; when i mouse over, some parts of the initial image turn ...

Hello everyone, I am a long time member but I very rarely post on here. To that end I hope I am posting this issue in the right place. Before I get into things I want to state that I am a novice with PHP. I am learning but a lot of the coding that I am using is either a free to use download with proper notation or coding I have figured out how to make work together off of different how to sites. I am trying to work on my model railroad clubs website and what I am trying to accomplish is to make a header ...

I am having a problem with a blue bar in css. I have a div containing a logo and a background matching the colour of the logo. The idea is that it strechs right across the page. It does so in Firefox and Safari. It does not do the same in IE. A small white gap appears!!! ##Banner { background-image: url(assets/banner.gif); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: center; position: absolute; width: 100%; height: 70px; background-color: #83A0CC; left: 0px; top: 40%; right: 0px; } #enter { ...

Im trying to "center" my site. Til now i'm using: margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 20%; Because it makes the site look good in 1024x768. But when I try it in other resolutions it is floating around like a ship gone astray! Anyone? Center it putting the CSS of the DIV or TABLE containing everything to: Code: margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto;text-align:left and set BODY's CSS to: Code: text-align:center The text align is a IE hack. And you have to set it back to left ...

Hi ive designed my first site by using dreamweaver with no help and now think im gonna regret spending all that time designing it without having any knowledge of html or any kind of coding. Over the past few weeks ive been reading some tutorials but still i have a lot to learn. My site is ok it works on IE but not on netscape and im not sure what else it doesn't work on, its slow if on a dial up but ok if on broadband, my rollover buttons dont work very well at all on broadband connection and not at all on ...

Hi, Could somebody tell me how to tighten up the row height on the "snippets / add to cart" section of This Page? Edit the attributes of the form tag in a css file. I figured it was in the CSS, but I can't figure out where that attribute is set. Here's the CSS: h2 { font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: medium; font-style: oblique; color: #993366; } h3 { font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: Large; font-style: oblique; color: #993366; } h4{ font-family: Arial, Helvetica, ...
