I've found a transition controller on the internet that I've put into my program, I'm getting a strange outcome when I call the method though. I've had to change two lines in the TransitionController.m because it used presentModalViewControllerAnimated, and I simply changed that to presentViewControllerAnimated, and the same for the dismiss method. The website I found the code: http://srooltheknife.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/custom-transition-animation-for-modal.html Code in my program- TransitionController.h: ...

Hi I don't know if i used the write code for this. But what I'm trying to do is, to show an activity with a timelimit, so for an example two pages, (page 1 and page 2.) And when a user views Page 1, it lets him look at it for 5 seconds then it automatically goes to Page 2. I've done all that correct. using Splash screen code. Code: Select all private static final int TIME_TO_SHOW_HOME = 3000; public Handler mCommandsHandler = new Handler() { @Override public void handleMessage(Message msg) { ...

Hi all, When you declare an NSTimer instance variable in the header file (with @prop and @synthesize in main), is it better to invalidate it or release it in the dealloc method? Thanks Eh, idk what to do. I guess my best bet is to create a new project and transfer stuff in one my one and see when the problem arises. Ok all, I have isolated the problem but what I am doing wrong is beyond me (or so I think). What I did was take all of the code out of the methods I had created in my ...

Hi there! I'm working in a Cocos2D game. I've started working in the game itself and now, once the game system is nearly completed, it's time to work with the menu. However, I don't know how should I add a menu to my game now... I'm using a "GameScene" class which inherits from CCLayer and where all game logic and graphics are processed, and I don't know if I should add the menu there or if the menu should be in a separate class... Here's how I "call" the game scene in the AppDelegate: - (void) ...

Hi all, While using a GLSurfaceView and onTouchEvent I used to get a flood of events when touching the screen. This resulted in me needed to sleep this otherwise it affected framerate. I noticed recently it doesnt do this anymore. I was wondering if this flooding was a bug that is now fixed or whether it can be switched on or off now? The reason I ask is that both could be useful to have. Object selection might be one use without flooding but dragging an object would need a flood of events. I don't know, ...

I don't really understand what's going on. Basically, when my app opens, it shows a splash screen with an animation of a "company logo" using a UIImageView added in interface builder and hooked up through a IBOutlet (and I also made it a property with attributes nonatomic and retain), and then goes to the next screen using a timer (I'm using a navigation hierarchy). I make sure to dump the imageView in viewDidDisappear -- but when I run the Allocations instrument it tells me that even after dumping the ...

I'm just learning how to program for android and am trying to work through Ed Burnette's Hello, Android book (ed. 3, so newest version). At the end of chap. 4 here, just following the code in the book (which I tried to copy with a few presumably innocuous changes so as to lear how it works) gives me a decent Sudoku game on the Eclipse emulator. Here's my problem: The games work as they should when I choose easy or difficult, but when I choose Medium difficulty, the emulator says "The application Sudoku ...

UPDATE: I just realized, the timer isn't even working. Why is that? Other details: Using Xcode 4.6.2, Single View Application, Storyboard, ARC, embedded in Navigation Controller @implementation MonsterScene -(void) viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [self startGame]; } NSInteger currentAge; NSInteger intrainingAgeMax = 10; NSInteger rookieAgeMax = 20; NSInteger championAgeMax = 30; NSInteger ultimateAgeMax = 40; NSInteger megaAgeMax = 50; NSTimer *seconds; -(void)startGame { currentAge = 0; UIImage *stage ...
