You can get Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 here. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/ie/ie8/default.mspx What do you think of it? I believe Microsoft Internet Explorer Beta 1 has been out since early March, 2008. I was just using it for this last week and in my opinion it is still buggy. The emulate IE7 mode also really doesn't do a great job of really emulating IE7 as things still looked different from the real IE7 at times. Instead of going through all of the problems with an emulator, I do ...

I have been using Windows Live OneCare for quite a while and have been pleased with the protection it has offered (until I got hit with the "System Security" rogue malware ). Microsoft says that its Defender program will protect against, and clean up, programs like that. However, I was brought to a screeching stop when I sought to download Defender: The instructions told me to "REMOVE" Live OneCare. What is going on, and what do I do? Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Involved1 (aka ...

Hello all, This is my first post so please forgive me if this is the wrong forum. I am the administrator for an online training site for my department. Because IS would not give us a web server due to security concerns we have to relay on a simple Windows share drive and HTML/MHT files. As the amount of material hosted on the drive is growing I have been asked to implement a full text search feature… with no backend to run any services! In a nutshell I’m looking for one of the following: 1) An ...

I just ordered my amd 3200 64 setup. I'll be getting it in the next couple days. I was wondering if anyone has any info on the windows 64bit edition? You can download it free here, and I was wondering if I should skip the windows pro sp2 installation, and just install the 64 bit. . . . .But knowing microsoft, their new x64 operating system won't be somewhat stable for a good 2-5 years from now. . . LOL. Thanks for your input. oh yeah, if your interested http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bi ... ...

I put in the windows xp reinstall disc. it brings up the window, I select new install, put in my product key, it copies some files, and says its going to restart. it does, but at this point it usually launches into that friendly GUI that walks me through the reinstall...however its not doing that; it just loads windows back up. I should mentioned I was having problems with my cdrom drive and just got my computer to recognize it again. the cd is still in the drive when I reboot. and ive messed around with ...

Hi, I was wondering if 2 different people from 2 diffrent computers share the same cd key? For example, if I bought Windows XP Home Edition Registered to me can I lend it to a friend of mine and let him use the same cd key etc? Will it have any conflicts at all? Including updates, will it have any problems? No unless the sticker says 2 cpu or you have a volume license What about for Windows XP Professional? Do you know what would happen if 2 users are on the same time on the same key? Same for XP Pro. Same ...

Hey, My laptop recently got infected with BraveSentry.. I ran Ad-Aware, AVG, and Windows Defender and they got it to remove most of the stuff, but I still have an iexplore.exe,csrss.exe, and others running in my processes (using around 80-100% of CPU) that I"m sure is not the real thing. I've tried running Spybot search and destroy, but ever since I removed the BraveSentry, my internet will not work (I'm working off of another computer) so I cannot run the update and it will not run. This is my HijackThis ...
