If you use country based versions of google, ie www.google.at www.google.de www.google.ch www.google.ca you have the possibility to choose "Pages from $countryname". But how does google know which country the page is from? It can't be Top Level Domain (xxxx.at, xxxx.de) because www.google.at wouldn't find my homepage www.hoerburger.net with the search at "jens hoerburger". btw: the server is located in austria. But it can't be the IP-address because the server "www.schmuck.ch" is located in .uk and if I ...

I want people to be able to type in "ecampsite.co.uk" and still see "www.ecampsite.co.uk". Just wondering whether anybody knows!!! Thank you Craig this might be serving settings instead of actual html on a page.... sorry server instead of .ht...lol If http://thedomain.com works but http://www.thedomain.com doesn't then ...

Hi people , having a spot of bother with geocoding via google. I have been using the following script on my local server without any problems but unfortunately my host has the server set up slightly differently (namely, allow_url_fopen is turned off). The script basically sends the address, api key etc to google which returns an xml response containing lat and long co-ordinates. These are then sent to my database. The working script on my local server is like this: define("MAPS_HOST", "maps.google.com"); ...

Hi all, I had optimized my 2 jewelry related websites but both sites were sandboxed. Now both sites came out from sandbox and both sites have good ranking on google within top 30. I have checked google.co.uk, google.ca, google.co.nz, google.co.in and google.com and found good ranking within 25-30 but there is no ranking on google.it and google.ch even not in top 100. My client who lives in florida is also saying that there is no ranking on google. What may be the reason and how much time should I wait for ...

Quick questions. My SERP for the same KW in say google.com, .it .ch. be .hk vary alot. In most of the non .com and .co.uk I have top 3, and in UK and US #10. what does this mean? Thanks You said it: It means you are "top 3" for .it .ch. be .hk and "top 10" for UK and US. Or maybe what you are getting at is why the difference? The reason is competition. You need to outperform the sites above you with onpage factors and get more BLs. There is also a local or regionalized factor that plays into SERPs. If you ...
